How to Obtain a Telegram Bot Token

A Telegram Bot Token is required so EZAffiliate can post deals, monitor message queues, and watermark product images directly into your Telegram channel.

Step 1: Open BotFather in Telegram

1. Open Telegram on your smartphone or desktop computer.
2. In the search bar at the top, search for @BotFather (ensure it has the official blue verification checkmark).
3. Click Start or send /start to begin communicating with BotFather.

Step 2: Create a New Bot

1. Send the command:

   /newbot
   

2. BotFather will prompt you for a Display Name for your bot (for example: My Loot Deals Bot). Type the name and press send.
3. BotFather will then ask you for a Username ending in bot (for example: my_loot_deals_bot or lootforward_bot).
   • Note: The username must be globally unique across all of Telegram.

Step 3: Copy Your HTTP API Token

Once the username is accepted, BotFather will respond with a congratulatory message containing your unique HTTP API Token:

Use this token to access the HTTP API:
1234567890:ABCdefGhIJKlmNoPQRsTUVwxyZ

[!IMPORTANT] Keep your bot token secure. Anyone with access to this token can send messages through your bot.

Step 4: Add Your Bot as an Admin to Your Telegram Channel

1. Open your target Telegram deal channel.
2. Go to Channel Settings (Manage Channel) ➡️ Administrators ➡️ Add Administrator.
3. Search for your bot using its @username.
4. Grant the following permissions:
   • Post Messages: Yes
   • Edit Messages of Others: Yes
   • Delete Messages of Others: Optional (recommended for flash deals)
5. Save the administrator settings.

Step 5: Connect Token in EZAffiliate Portal

1. Log into your EZAffiliate Creator Portal.
2. Go to Bot Configuration in the left sidebar.
3. Paste the token into the Telegram Bot Token field.
4. Click Verify & Save. Your bot is now linked and ready to forward deals!
